Open Water Swim Clinic – Franschhoek

Join me on the 19th of February 2023, for an open water training clinic at La Roche Estate in Franschhoek. In this 5 hour workshop for intermediate and advanced swimmers, I’ll be teaching my fundamental open water techniques for you to elevate your swimming skills and how to prepare for your first Robben Island crossing.

My open water experience comes from competing for South Africa for the last 11 years where I’ve been 17x National Open Water Champion, crossed the English Channel in the fastest South African female time, competed at the last two Olympic Games, won the Junior World Championships, won 3 Midmar Miles and currently hold the fastest female time for Robben Island in a wetsuit.

On the day, we’ll be covering drafting, sighting and the best stroke for open water swimming. The days program will run as follows:

1.How to train for your first Robben Island crossing and what to expect on event day

2. Open Water Techniques and Training

3. Shoulder Rehab and Recovery

4. A 1.6km or 3km Training Swim 

5. Ended of with a Q&A, light lunch and social
