The 5-minute Caprese Salad Recipe: my all-time favorite

If there was a salad that could taste anything other than a salad it would be the caprese salad. My sisters and I love putting this together when we have family and friends over. It’s super easy and quick to make but the real reason we do it is for the mozzarella… loves mozzarella!

The Recipe

Fresh basil leaves (sometimes I opt for baby spinach, watercress and rocket… tastes pretty good too)

Cherry tomatoes


Basil pesto

Olive oil

Salt & black pepper for serving


  1. In a large pan lightly cook the cherry tomatoes with olive oil and salt and pepper.
  2. Spread basil leaves on a large plate, followed my tomatoes and sliced mozzarella.
  3. Lastly, drizzle basil pesto, add salt and pepper and enjoy.
